¡Conéctate!
¡Conéctate! is a monthly, citywide event for Christian young people. The name in Spanish means, "Connect yourself" and has come to be more than just the name of an event, but the core of its message. Many believe in God, but have never "connected" with Him.
We began at the outdoor gymnasium in September of 2008. In May of 2009, we moved the event into our youth center, and we're witnessing the Lord changing the lives of many young people. Local young people are taking increasing responsibility for the leadership of the event, and we're seeing a spiritual growth in many that is exceeding abuntantly above all that we could have asked or thought. They focus on worship and challenging the kids to know/press into God in a deeper way, with emphasis on and room made for a lot of personal ministry. In the ensuing years, the Lord has raised up an army of young people with a vision to transform the hearts and lives of the people around them. September of 2010 will mark the first ¡Conéctate! fully under the leadership and direction of a team of these anointed young people composed of kids from at least 7 different local area churches. Please pray for the anointing and presence of the Holy Spirit!
Here is an excerpt from one of the young men, sharing with his peers what he sees the Lord doing:
"God is waking up a different squadron, a squadron of agents that are woken up again and again. Their methods are different but they get results, they don't think like the masses, they are unique with the authority to bind devils, It's a special emergency force against the invading armies, spiritual combat soldiers in a state of alert, a task force of the new century, a squadron for the front lines in battle, an armed and dangerous division that sets the rules, the spiritually violent that only fight in the major-leagues, the worst nightmare of hell that has ever been lifted up, an army of untouchables at the service of the general of generals, agents of ultra spiritual espionage in the enemy camp, a brigade of young people trained to win, a force that doesn't know the meaning of the word defeat, a force capable of invading hell and defying the enemy, soldiers that don't wait for things to happen but they make them happen, an army that comes onto the scene unexpectedly, soldiers without margin of error, agents with a single motto: Evangelize or die, never retreat, never surrender. Combat soldiers on red alert, that live in the eye of the hurricane.
The goals of ¡Conéctate! are five-fold:
- To connect the youth of Guaymas and the area with Jesus, the risen, and living Lord of Lords in an intimate, powerful, and life-changing way. To exalt His name above every other, and over the city, state, and region.
- To connect young men and women with one another in genuine Christian love, breaking down the barriers between local churches, uniting the Body of Christ, and demolishing the stronghold of denominationalism.
- To bring vision for something more and to challenge the young people of this city to fight for the inheritance that Jesus purchased for them at such an extravegant price.
- To train young leaders and give them opportunity to flow in the gifts that God has given them. In short, to raise up world-changers.
- To provide an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can minister to young people, in young people, and through young people. To give them opportunity to receive from the King of Kings. In this regard, we allow plenty of time for personal ministry.
